Motion and power
Continuous rotation servo
A compact motor and driver controlled with servo-style pulses.
What it does
The pulse width sets speed and direction around a neutral value; it does not command an angle. Rotation continues until the neutral command is sent.
Connections and compatibility
Use an external regulated supply, common ground, and a signal output driven by the Servo library.
Choosing one
A factory continuous-rotation servo is usually easier and more repeatable than modifying a positional one. Use a spare positional servo only if its construction permits the modification.
Common mistakes
Neutral drifts and needs calibration. Time-based motion is not precise positioning; use an encoder or endstop when position matters.
Use it in a tutorial
- Convert a servo to continuous rotation — Understand a servo conversion, calibrate neutral, and control continuous rotation with a short timed run.
